Title: Hollywood Blvd., We’re Doomed

After witnessing this scene on Hollywood Boulevard in the late 1970s, Vallen decided to make it a drawing. Drifters loiter on a bus bench graffitied with LA punk band names. A star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame is defaced with a nihilistic scrawl reading, “we’re doomed.” The first punk club in Los Angeles, The Masque, was just around the corner.
