This painting is on display at the Bakersfield Museum of Art from Sept. 17, 2009 through Nov. 22, 2009, as part of the museum's Day of the Dead exhibition.

The Mexican Day of the Dead observance honors deceased ancestors, and today the occasion is widely celebrated from Mexico to the Southwest of the United States.
