Artist's statement:

"I created this drawing in reaction to the wars then raging throughout Central America. The region was convulsed by military dicatorship, revolution and counter-revolution, while the great majority of people were living without running water, schools, electricity, and basic sanitation facilities.

Although my drawing focused on the conflicts that tore Central America apart in the 80s, it is also a timeless universal condemnation of war."
