NO
JUSTICE, NO PEACE

Artist's
statement:
"I
created this pencil drawing in the immediate aftermath of the
Rodney King verdict and the bloody riots that ensued on April
29th, 1992. I actually saw a similar scene such as this on the
streets of Los Angeles during the first day of violence.
I
witnessed thousands of outraged citizens gather in front of L.A.
Police Department headquarters, and in the crowd stood defiant,
angry young men like the ones depicted in my drawing.
The
unflinching militancy of these youth inspired me to create this
artwork, titled after the slogan shouted in the streets during
the riots that engulfed L.A., - "No Justice, No Peace!"
